What an interesting story with some great advice for Thomas and many other young and even older kids and adults too, perhaps suggestion for the author please encase the print size on your last three pages at the end of the basis story so everyone can more easily read and be encouraged by these last words as well, ok? Yet, I am still planning on recommending this for four stars as we as for those ages 5-10 &+ as older ones could also be dealing with the pains. I received this ebook for $0.99 @ and in return, here is my honest review .Another suggestion is if you liked my review that you could either Send me a free review copy in order for me and others to continue doing this for you or set your ebooks on Select so that those who cannot continue paying for each ebook you would wish to have honest review done, ok? "Sami The Magic Bear," is the story of Thomas being bullied by a fellow schoolmate Victor. Thomas eventually works up the courage thanks to Sami the magic bear to discuss how he was bullied to his principal. Thomas is able to help Victor succeed in his French and math class while Victor helps Thomas succeed at basketball. I think this is a great short read for young children. It's unfortunate how bullying has become so aggressive in the past few years because of social media. This is a great read to introduce children on the consequences of bullying and show how opposites can work together to help each other out.
This was a great book and it should be in every school Library and every child should read it plus the parents should read it too! A very valuable lesson in life! Loved it!
Adorable, however I wish all teachers and principals react this way as shown in the book. Adults help children by executing those healthy coping skills as well. What I like most about the book is that the child was aware of what the kids were doing and knew it was wrong. A lot of kids can not identify with most aspects of bullying or know if a particular act is wrong.
This is a good story for older children about being bullied. I would rate 5 stars but I feel alot of the words are too "big" for younger kids to understand. Good characters, good plot, good story.
‘Sami the Magic Bear’ was a story about a young boy named Thomas who is being bullied at school. Thomas has no friends, but he is a good student. On his 9th birthday, his parents apparently give him a new hat that he wears to school (although at the beginning of the story, the author does not show the parents giving Thomas the hat). The bullies beat him up and take the hat. Thomas is distraught until he goes home and is greeted by his parents and his grandparents, who give him a bear for his birthday. Thomas soon finds out that Sami the Bear has magical powers. He serves as a friend for Thomas, and helps him figure out a way to stop the bullying Talk to the school principal.

Thomas follows Sami’s plan, and the principal has a meeting with him and his bully, Victor. They reach an agreement where Thomas will serve as Victor’s tutor, while Victor will help Thomas develop his basketball skills. At the end of the story, Victor becomes a high academic achiever, Thomas earns a spot on the basketball team, and Thomas and Victor become best friends.

I think the story was good overall; however, I did think that there were some issues. First, it seemed that the author went back and forth with her audience. On the one hand, it seemed like the story was written for children in middle childhood (roughly ages 8-10), but on the other hand, because of some of the language used, it seemed as if it was written more toward adults. Secondly, there were a few minor typos and other errors throughout the story. In addition to this, although the story was titled ‘Sami the Magic Bear’, and Sami certainly made an appearance and played a great part in the story, the story overall was more about Thomas than it was about Sami. Lastly, as an aside, it doesn’t seem like the ‘Magic Bear’ concept fit in with the age group that the author seems to be targeting. Imaginary friends, such as the Magic Bear, are more likely to appear in early childhood (roughly ages 2-7) than middle childhood, so this concept doesn’t appear to be a good fit for the story itself.

As a suggestion, I think the author should focus more on early childhood with the next Sami story, and make the language more applicable to younger children to make it more developmentally appropriate.
