Average Jill is about just that, Jillian is your average girl. She isn’t the skinny one with the perfect figure. I loved that this wasn’t just about your typical skinny person that wants to call themselves fat. Because let’s face it, that gets old quick. Jillian has her self-esteem issues, especially with her friend Stacey who of course is the skinny friend that always pushes to be healthy.Stacey is on a mission, and that mission is to makeover Jill, she is set on fixing Jill up and getting her a Hot boyfriend. After a full makeover wardrobe change, hair cut, the whole nine yards, Stacey’s plan is in action. All she has to do is set Jill up on those dates. After many failed attempts and Jill putting up with Stacey’s bullying and pushing someone crosses Jill’s path.
I first stumbled across Summer Ellis’ book on a whim. I saw her first book in the cartel series was free, so I gave it a shot, and boy was I glad I did. I read every single book in that series of course while impatiently waiting for the last and final book to be released. Well anyways, I love her work, so when Summer announced she was branching off for another book, I knew I would have to get it as well. Yet again she did not let me down. This was definitely drama filled and telling us Jill’s story on a path to trying to find herself with her friend trying to push her into situations, and Jill just agreeing to go along with it. This story was funny, quirky, and heck I even got frustrated at times. I just wanted to reach in and B*tch slap Stacey. But hey we all have friends that try to act like that. Of course we have the sexy Scottsman Brian, I loved him in this story. His sexy accent and all. I’ll admit it took me a minute to adjust to reading the accent. Usually when a character has an accent the write will do a good job at explaining and reminding us he has an accent and we can picture hearing that accent in our minds. Summer, wrote it out with that sexy slang way with they’re dialect. So that was a little different but didn’t change the story for me one bit. I loved it and Summer’s unique writing style. I will definitely be looking forward to reading more from Summer.

Average Jill edition by Summer Ellis Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I love your Cartel series and resisted Average Jill but now I'm glad I caved and read it. Well written and funny. I know it's not a series but I would love to know how things end up for each of them.
I love Summer Ellis' writing. It's realistic and funny. I loved Average Jill because it can be any woman's story of hope and love.
I could completely relate to Jill, and I was glad that the story ended the way it did. I can't wait to see what happens next with the other main characters.
Amusing story and I like the story ans how she relates it .I am french reader and enjoy reading this story.
I understand the ending and it was the logical choice but part of me wishes that she chose differently and the drama ensued!
I'm not usually a drama junkie but more time was spent developing Jed's character and as such, you want to see him "happy" not the hardly described Brian.
Otherwise, I thought it was an amazing book. I love everything Summer Ellis writes and this is no exception.
I love Summer's style. She's a good writer, tells a good story and has a way of getting you wrapped up in her characters. In this book, as in her other stories, she features a strong female character that is REAL. You see Jillian, the main character work through her self doubt and relationship issues through crazy dating antics contrived by her roommate/best friend. This book is funny, sweet, sometimes steamy but most of all a great story about a real woman coming into her own. I appreciated the ending as it was, again, " a real" happily ever after but I wouldn't be disappointed to see a story about Sexy Jed. Just sayin'.
I really enjoyed this book just as I have enjoyed other books by Summer Ellis. I will admit that this book ended differently than I expected. The ending, some might say, felt a little rushed, but I was happy with the conclusion. Jill is an average slightly overweight woman who, like a lot of us, has trouble finding a good man. Lucky for her she has a great friend who is willing to do a complete makeover AKA Operation Trade Up.! And so begins Jill's journey to find true love. How far is Jill willing to to find her true love and will she loose her best friend in the process? I suggest you read and find out. Enjoy!
